A Researcher's Guide to Our Peptides

A plain-language orientation to what's in the catalog, grouped by research area, plus a glossary for anyone new to handling research peptides.

Common Terms, Plainly Explained

A quick glossary for anything you see on a label, a COA, or this site that might be unfamiliar.

Lyophilized
Freeze-dried into a stable powder for storage and shipping, then reconstituted with a diluent before use.
Reconstitution
The process of adding a sterile diluent (commonly bacteriostatic water) to a lyophilized vial to bring it back into solution.
HPLC
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography — the standard analytical method used to verify a compound's purity and concentration.
Mass Spec (MS)
Mass spectrometry, used alongside HPLC to confirm a compound's exact molecular identity, not just its purity.
Endotoxin (LAL) Test
A test using Limulus Amebocyte Lysate to detect bacterial endotoxins that purity testing alone wouldn't catch.
COA
Certificate of Analysis — the lab document reporting a specific batch's purity, identity, and other test results.
RUO
Research Use Only — indicates a product is intended strictly for laboratory and in-vitro research, not for human or veterinary use.
Bacteriostatic Water
Sterile water containing a small amount of benzyl alcohol as a preservative, used to reconstitute lyophilized peptides.

This guide is educational context for products already in our catalog — it isn't medical, clinical, or dosing advice. All compounds listed are sold strictly for laboratory research use by qualified professionals; see our Terms for full conditions.
